Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Gig Harbor, WA

This contract position, available for the 2026-2027 school year through June 16, 2027, will serve K-12 students and provide vital therapy services across multiple school sites. Your expertise will make a tangible difference as you deliver evidence-based interventions, assist with assessments, and help students overcome barriers to learning and participation. An active Washington COTA license is required, and prior experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
Qualified candidates should demonstrate:
- Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Washington (current/active)
- Experience or familiarity with school-based occupational therapy practices
- Commitment to working with K-12 students across a diverse range of needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators and families
- Ability to organize, document, and track student progress accurately
In this role, your responsibilities include:
- Providing direct treatment and support under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Collaborating with educational teams to develop and implement student goals and accommodations
- Contributing to IEP meetings, care plans, and progress reporting
- Rotating between schools district-wide as needed
- Maintaining compliance with state and district regulations
