Candidates will support approximately 36 students per caseload, collaborating with educators and other therapy professionals to deliver high-quality occupational therapy services. These roles require a solid understanding of individualized education plans and a commitment to fostering each student’s growth and independence.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure in Washington State
- Previous experience in school-based settings (preferred)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Understanding of best practices for pediatric occupational therapy
- Ability to manage diverse caseloads with varying needs
- Adaptability and approachability for working with elementary and middle school populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Collaborate with other Special Education providers and classroom educators
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP development
- Communicate progress and strategies to families and staff
- Support the learning environment with strategies to improve students’ functional abilities
