A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed for temporary maternity leave coverage. In this position, you’ll contribute 21–28 hours weekly (3–4 days/week) from August 17 (or as soon as possible) through September 28. Your impact will include:
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services in alignment with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Collaborate closely with special education teams and classroom staff to foster student growth, engagement, and participation in both general and self-contained environments.
- Support the functional skills development of students in self-contained autism programs.
- Provide ongoing communication with educators and support staff.
- Document student progress and actively participate in team meetings to optimize outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification by the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association or eligibility to obtain it.
- State of Illinois Occupational Therapist License or eligibility required.
- Previous experience in pediatric, school-based, or special education settings is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
