Make an impact supporting students in a dynamic educational setting as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. This contract position is located near Aurora, Illinois, with opportunities to work across diverse age groups from Pre-K through age 22. You'll engage with students at multiple elementary, middle, and high schools, providing crucial hands-on assistance to help them reach their goals.
What We're Looking For:
- Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Valid Illinois licensure as a COTA
- Strongly prefer experience supporting students in a school environment
- Ability to travel between multiple schools within the district
- Must complete required fingerprinting prior to assignment
- Passion for pediatric and adolescent care, adaptability, and strong communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of an occupational therapist, following individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Support students ranging in age from Pre-K through the transition period (up to 22 years old)
- Facilitate skill development to enhance students’ participation in academic and daily living tasks
- Collaborate with educators, families, and related service staff to implement strategies and monitor progress
- Document services and maintain accurate records in accordance with school district policies
- Flexibly manage caseloads that vary based on school assignments and student needs
In this full-time role (between 35-37.5 hours per week), you’ll adapt to varying school schedules and gain broad experience by working across several campuses.
