Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
- Previous pediatric experience, preferably in a school setting
- Strong understanding of therapeutic strategies for children and adolescents
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs of students in a diverse school community
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with individualized or group occupational therapy interventions
- Collaborate regularly with occupational therapists, teachers, and school staff
- Monitor and document student progress towards treatment goals
- Assist in developing activities that support students’ motor, sensory, and functional skills needed for classroom participation
- Provide guidance and support to classroom staff regarding therapy recommendations and accommodations
- Maintain timely and accurate therapy records in accordance with school policies
