Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Irvine, CA
Step into a dynamic school-based environment supporting the needs of students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). As part of an onsite contract role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Occupational Therapists, delivering essential services that foster student development and achievement. This position runs through June 2027, offering a predictable Monday-Friday schedule with 40 hours each week.
In this role, you will collaborate with experienced OTs who are managing a high volume of assessments. Your expertise will be crucial in helping students excel both in and out of the classroom. Site assignment takes into account your location preferences and will be finalized post-interview.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid CA COTA license required
- Experience in a school setting preferred
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn district/state-specific documentation and compliance protocols
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptability to work with diverse student populations
- Ability to travel to assigned site(s) within the area
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting assessments and implementing intervention plans
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services to students according to individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate student records and progress reports
- Communicate regularly with OTs, teachers, and support staff regarding student needs and progress
- Support a safe and organized therapy environment compliant with district and state regulations
- Participate in team meetings as needed
