Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – School-Based

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a supportive school team serving students from Pre-K through 8th grade. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with students across a variety of developmental and educational needs while collaborating closely with an Occupational Therapist to help students achieve success in the classroom.
With a manageable caseload of approximately 50 students, this role is ideal for a COTA looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in a school setting, grow professionally, and make a meaningful impact on students' daily functioning and independence. While a full-time schedule is preferred, the district may also consider candidates available for three full-day shifts per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing student treatment plans and therapy interventions
- Provide direct support to students in accordance with IEP goals and therapy recommendations
- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist, teachers, and school staff to support student success
- Help students develop fine motor, sensory, self-help, and functional school participation skills
- Maintain accurate service documentation and student progress records
- Assist with therapy materials, activities, and data collection
- Support a positive and engaging learning environment for students
Qualifications
- Active COTA certification and state licensure, as applicable
- Ability to work collaboratively with an Occupational Therapist and educational team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- School-based experience preferred but not required
