In this diverse position, you’ll travel to various schools within the county—sites will be assigned prior to the start of the school year. You’ll contribute to students’ growth and independence by implementing therapy plans and working closely with occupational therapists, educators, and families.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Florida Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
- Previous school-based experience is preferred, though not required
- Willingness and ability to travel across Hendry County for site assignments
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with multiple stakeholders
- Commitment to fostering positive student outcomes and adapting to diverse environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic interventions as directed by occupational therapists to K–12 students
- Document student progress in accordance with school and legal requirements
- Assist with the development and modification of student therapy plans
- Travel to assigned school sites as needed; flexibility to serve varying caseloads
- Engage with teachers and families to support student participation and functionality
- Attend meetings, maintain records, and provide feedback regarding student progress
