Qualifications & Experience:
- Current COTA license and certification
- Previous experience in school settings or pediatric occupational therapy
- Strong understanding of IEPs and special education processes
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Positive, patient, and adaptable approach to working with students of diverse backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students according to IEP requirements
- Assist in developing and implementing therapy goals and individualized treatment plans
- Support student participation in classroom and school activities by adapting materials or modifying environments
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and communications
- Consult and coordinate with other school professionals and parents to ensure continuity of care
- Attend IEP and team meetings as needed
- Foster an encouraging atmosphere that supports each student’s development and confidence
