Step into a dynamic contract opportunity for a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support K-12 students in a school-based setting. You'll play a vital role by providing services across multiple sites, ensuring continuity for approximately 50 students during a teacher's maternity leave. This position is itinerant, requiring flexibility and adaptability as you service the entire district for the duration of the school year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current and valid Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in California
- Previous experience working in a school environment, preferably with K-12 students
- Strong understanding of IEP goals and documentation processes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with educators, staff, and families
- Flexibility to travel to multiple sites within the district
- Reliable organizational abilities to manage a sizable caseload
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students, supporting IEP goals and student success
- Adapt and implement therapeutic strategies to meet a variety of needs across diverse grade levels
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and document progress in accordance with school and district standards
- Work closely with the district's special education team to ensure effective support for students
- Maintain clear records, schedule sessions, and manage your caseload efficiently throughout the school year
This position offers a contract from mid-September through the beginning of June, aligning with the school calendar and ensuring consistent support for students and staff. Your contribution will make a meaningful impact during a key transition period in the academic year.
