This contract opportunity is ideal for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) ready to work across multiple school sites throughout Hendry County. You'll play a key part in helping students develop skills to thrive academically and socially, traveling to assigned locations within the county.
In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and fellow therapists to deliver effective occupational therapy interventions. Your adaptability and willingness to travel throughout the district during the school year will be essential, as sites will be designated over the summer.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, active Florida COTA license required
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Genuine interest in supporting children from kindergarten through twelfth grade
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable transportation and comfort with travel throughout Hendry County
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and school assignments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students across multiple school sites
- Support student growth by implementing individualized plans in coordination with OTs and school staff
- Document therapy sessions and progress notes according to school and district guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, IEP teams, and families to promote student participation and independence
- Travel to assigned schools as needed throughout the academic year
