Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Illinois
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Previous experience in school-based therapy or with pediatric populations preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation skills a plus
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to work with a diverse population of K-12 students district-wide
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Collaborate closely with supervising Occupational Therapists, teachers, and support staff
- Observe, assess, and document student progress and needs
- Provide input in multidisciplinary team meetings and help develop intervention plans
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and fostering functional independence
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to coordinate care and share progress
