Embark on a fulfilling assignment supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a dynamic educational setting. This on-site, full-time contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to student growth and collaborate closely with a skilled team of school professionals. Based near Oak Harbor, WA and easily accessible from Seattle, you’ll play an essential role in helping students with mild to moderate disabilities achieve their educational goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Occupational Therapy Assistant license
- Current Department of Education (DOE) credential (or ability to obtain)
- Completion of required fingerprint background checks for both WA state and DOE
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates are welcome
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Support students’ ability to access the curriculum and participate fully in school activities
- Maintain accurate records of sessions, student progress, and communication with team members
- Assist with development and implementation of IEP goals
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers, school staff, and parents
- Adapt activities and materials to meet the unique needs of each student
