Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid COTA licensure for California, or eligibility to obtain
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and related documentation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with occupational therapists, teachers, families, and other school staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in accordance with IEP goals
- Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of treatment plans
- Support students in developing fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive behaviors for increased success in the academic setting
- Monitor and report on student progress to the OT and educational team
- Participate in team meetings, parent communications, and IEP conferences as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely records of sessions and progress notes
- Adapt interventions and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
