This Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position offers the chance to collaborate closely with a district-wide team of experienced Occupational Therapists, making a significant difference across multiple campuses.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Kansas
- Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Skilled in providing therapy under the direction of OTs, adhering to established treatment plans
- Adaptable, with the ability to travel between multiple school sites each week
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with staff, students, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services for students, following individualized education program (IEP) goals and OT plans of care
- Support 2-3 district Occupational Therapists with higher caseloads, contributing to the efficiency of therapy delivery across campuses
- Maintain accurate service records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Collaborate with OTs, educators, and other professionals to support students’ participation and progress in school activities
- Assist with therapy session preparation, use of adaptive equipment, and student engagement strategies
- Participate in meetings as needed to contribute to student success
