As an itinerant COTA, you’ll provide valuable support across multiple campuses each week, working with 2-3 Occupational Therapists who have higher caseloads. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that students receive consistent and effective occupational therapy services district-wide. This position allows for exposure to diverse school settings, teamwork with seasoned professionals, and involvement in the wider community.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Kansas (or eligibility)
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric environment is highly preferred
- Ability to coordinate and travel efficiently between campuses
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with OTs, staff, and students
- Passion for helping children achieve their functional goals within an educational setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic interventions designed in collaboration with supervising OTs
- Provide direct and consultative services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Maintain documentation and data tracking per district guidelines
- Assist with adapting and modifying classroom activities to meet student needs
- Engage regularly with OTs to discuss student progress and adjust interventions
