As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working on a contract basis, you’ll have full-time hours and the opportunity to make a significant impact across diverse caseloads—primarily elementary, with possibilities to work with middle and high school students as well.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current certification as a COTA and eligibility to practice in Massachusetts
- Experience with pediatric populations, especially within school environments
- Skilled in implementing occupational therapy interventions based on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and families
- Flexibility to adapt to a varied caseload and changing student needs
- Strong organizational abilities for documentation and progress monitoring
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Record and maintain detailed documentation of interventions, progress, and outcomes
- Collaborate with the OT, general and special education staff, and support teams to foster student participation
- Assist with screenings, evaluations, and assessments under the supervision of the licensed OT
- Develop creative and engaging activities to enhance fine motor, sensory, and self-help skills for students across grade levels
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development relevant to school-based OT services
