Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Port Orchard, WA
In this rewarding opportunity, you'll provide essential support as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic school setting. Your work will make a meaningful difference in the lives of high school students, assisting Occupational Therapists to foster independence and skill development. This is a contract assignment running full-time from ASAP through June 17, 2027, allowing you to build professional connections and develop expertise within a dedicated educational community.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Current, valid Washington COTA license
- Fingerprinting clearance through OSPI
- Experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy settings preferred
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Strong organizational skills and a positive, student-focused approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Support high school Occupational Therapists in delivering therapy services to students
- Implement treatment plans under OT supervision to help students achieve IEP goals
- Collect data and document student progress with attention to detail
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive learning environment
- Assist in modifying classroom materials and activities to promote student participation
