School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Port Orchard, Washington
Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ growth and development as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of high school learners by collaborating closely with Occupational Therapists in an educational environment through June 17, 2027.
As an essential member of the school’s student services team, you’ll help deliver occupational therapy interventions designed to foster independence and success in the classroom. You’ll work a consistent schedule of 7.5 hours per day, five days a week, right in the heart of this welcoming, student-focused school community.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid Washington State COTA license (required)
- Completion of fingerprinting process with OSPI
- Experience in school or pediatric occupational therapy settings preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to assist high school-age students with therapy goals as directed by lead OT
- Professional, dependable, and ready to take initiative in a supportive team environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement prescribed therapy activities and interventions under OT supervision
- Track and document student progress and contribute to care planning
- Support classroom staff by sharing techniques and strategies for student success
- Promote participation and engagement in meaningful school activities for all learners
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive setting
