This full-time, on-site contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and extends through February 2027—with the possibility of extension to cover a maternity leave.
You'll work collaboratively in a school environment serving a diverse range of students with mild to moderate disabilities. The assignment includes supporting the occupational therapy goals for learners, providing direct intervention, and regularly communicating with educators and families. Specific caseload details and the number of sites will be provided during the interview process.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification
- Active Washington State license and Department of Education (DOE) license
- Ability to clear WA fingerprint background checks for both licenses (required)
- Previous experience working in school settings or with children preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptable, compassionate, and organized approach to supporting student success
Primary Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist for students ages and caseload to be announced
- Record progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Collaborate closely with teaching and therapy staff to promote student participation and progress
- Provide creative, student-centered interventions for a variety of learning and physical needs
- Adapt activities and materials to individual student needs, supporting IEP goals
