Qualifications and experience:
- Valid COTA license in Virginia
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but strong new graduates are welcome to apply
- Familiarity with IEP goals and special education compliance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and related service providers
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet a range of developmental and functional needs across elementary, middle, and high school populations
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized programming for students
- Track progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student progress
- Consult regularly with educational staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment
