Desired qualifications and experience:
- Current, active FL DOH Occupational Therapy Assistant license required
- Previous experience as a COTA in a school setting strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students across a broad age range (PreK-12th grade)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and therapists
- District requires up-to-date fingerprints (may utilize AHCA Clearinghouse records if previously processed)
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support the development and implementation of individual and group interventions targeting fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills
- Document student progress, maintain accurate service records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Manage scheduling and travel across multiple school sites within the Port St. Lucie area
- Collaborate actively with school staff and family members to maximize student participation and independence
