As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant working in a dynamic contract position, you’ll work on-site within 3-5 campuses, making a tangible impact on students’ functional and educational outcomes.
Your expertise will ensure students receive high-quality occupational therapy services, empowering them to overcome challenges and access their curriculum fully. You’ll be valued as an integral member of each school’s support team as you tailor interventions, collaborate closely with therapists and teachers, and help students reach new milestones.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Active Florida DOH Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license
- Previous experience supporting pediatric/school-based populations (PreK-12)
- Flexibility to travel between multiple campuses in the Port St. Lucie area
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet district credentialing and fingerprint requirements (including AHCA Clearinghouse access if previously printed)
Role Responsibilities
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students following their IEP goals
- Support and collaborate with classroom staff, OTs, and families to facilitate student participation and progress
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in evaluations and team meetings
- Demo adaptive equipment and strategies to staff and students as needed
- Manage a varied caseload, adapting to evolving needs across campuses
