Make an immediate impact supporting students across multiple schools in the Port St. Lucie area as a contracted Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This on-site position offers the opportunity to help students from PreK through 12th grade grow, develop, and achieve their fullest potential. Work closely with an expert OT team and collaborate with educators and families to deliver high-quality services.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Active Florida Department of Health OTA license required
- Previous experience providing occupational therapy in school settings preferred
- Familiarity with PreK-12th grade populations and IEP process a plus
- Ability to travel between 3-5 assigned schools as needed
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Completion of required district fingerprinting (previous AHCA Clearinghouse records may be accepted)
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy and consultative services to a diverse student caseload
- Support students in achieving IEP goals through tailored interventions
- Collaborate with OTs, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Document sessions, progress, and maintain compliance with school and district guidelines
- Adapt activities to individual student needs, supporting participation and independence
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP development
- Maintain professional standards and uphold district credentialing requirements
This contract position is scheduled for 35 hours per week and runs through the end of the school year. Locations for school assignments within the Port St. Lucie area will be determined upon placement.
