Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting elementary learners as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a vibrant school environment located in the greater Van Nuys area. This full-time, onsite opportunity will allow you to make a significant impact on students’ developmental progress and overall school experience. You’ll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with your assignment running through June 9, 2027.
You’ll collaborate closely with occupational therapists and school teams to provide individualized interventions for an elementary caseload. Enjoy the fulfillment that comes from helping young students develop the skills they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active California COTA license (required)
- Previous school-based COTA experience is essential
- Capable of working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Proficient communication and documentation skills
- Able to adapt intervention strategies for diverse student needs
- Available for immediate start and to fulfill the contract through June 2027
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to elementary students onsite
- Assist with implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students in building fine motor, sensory-motor, and functional skills
- Document student progress and provide updates to supervising OT and educational staff
- Engage in team meetings, consultations, and support parent communication as needed
