Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current national certification and state licensure as a COTA (or eligibility for licensure)
- Prior experience in school-based or pediatric therapy settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt to multiple student needs and classroom environments
- Commitment to following all special education and therapy guidelines
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support students with fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skill-building activities
- Document progress and maintain accurate student records
- Participate in IEP meetings and prepare data as needed
- Collaborate with teachers and related service staff to maximize student success
- Assist in creating and modifying classroom strategies to promote inclusion
- Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for students
