Occupational Therapist School Setting - Alvarado, TX

Step into a rewarding role supporting students by providing specialized occupational therapy services on a full-time contract. This exciting position offers a blend of in-person and remote work—three days each week are onsite, while two days offer the flexibility of working remotely. Collaborate closely with a dedicated team that includes two experienced OTs and a supportive COTA, working together to meet the needs of approximately 200 students shared among four staff members.
Your expertise will make a meaningful difference, guiding students toward greater independence and improving their daily school experiences. The ideal candidate brings a passion for student development, strong communication skills, and experience in a school-based setting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with appropriate state credentials
- Experience in a school or pediatric environment strongly preferred
- Ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently
- Effective collaboration and communication skills with educators, families, and staff
- Skilled in developing and implementing individualized therapy interventions
- Tech-savvy—capable of managing documentation and teletherapy sessions
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students on your caseload
- Assess student needs, develop IEP goals, and document progress
- Collaborate regularly with faculty, other therapists, and families
- Adapt and provide interventions that facilitate student participation in the educational environment
- Utilize digital tools for virtual sessions and maintain thorough, compliant records
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, supportive atmosphere
