Occupational Therapist School Setting in Andover, MN
Start a rewarding contract opportunity as a full-time Occupational Therapist supporting students’ growth and success at both elementary and middle school locations. In this dynamic school-based position, you’ll work closely with a talented and collaborative team, positively impacting students’ lives through creative and compassionate therapy.
Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive OT services to help students achieve their academic goals, as well as supervising a dedicated COTA. This contract runs from September 18th to January 4th and requires adaptability as you work between two vibrant school sites.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active OT license in Minnesota, or eligibility to obtain before the start date
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, students, and families
- Experience in supervising COTA staff or other therapy assistants is preferred
- Ability to travel between middle and elementary schools as scheduled
- Passion for providing support that empowers students to overcome barriers
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering occupational therapy services in alignment with students’ IEPs
- Evaluating students’ needs and documenting progress
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to foster a supportive learning environment
- Providing supervision, mentorship, and support to the assigned COTA
- Communicating regularly with parents, teachers, and staff regarding student progress and therapy strategies
- Maintaining accurate and timely records in compliance with district and state guidelines
