Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students’ success as a full-time Occupational Therapist for the 2026/2027 school year. You'll work with a collaborative special education team, offering services across three conveniently located schools in the Battleboro, NC area for approximately 35 students—10 receiving consultative services and 25 benefitting from your direct support.
In this role, you’ll dedicate four days weekly to school-based therapy and one day to preschool evaluations as part of a play-based assessment team. Schools 1 and 2 share a campus, and the third site is within a short drive, ensuring travel is minimal and your time is focused on meaningful intervention.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist license for the state
- Background in school-based therapy or pediatric OT strongly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience conducting evaluations and developing goal-oriented treatment plans
- Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, including participating in play-based assessments
- Commitment to fostering students’ independence and participation in the classroom setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy to students, adapting interventions to address sensory, motor, and functional goals
- Complete and interpret assessments, contribute to IEP meetings, and document student progress effectively
- Engage in play-based evaluations for preschool-aged children with the TPBA team (one day a week)
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists to create supportive learning environments
- Support transitions and accommodations for students between multiple school settings
