- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid and current OT license (Louisiana)
- Prior experience or strong interest in working within school-based settings
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans for students
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Capability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
- Familiarity with IEP process and related school documentation a plus
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluate students' needs in various areas including fine motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living skills
- Develop therapy plans tailored to each student’s goals and collaborate with teachers on classroom strategies
- Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services in accordance with student IEPs
- Monitor and report on student progress; participate in IEP meetings to communicate findings and recommendations
- Educate and advise school staff and families regarding occupational therapy interventions and strategies for student success
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation as required by school and state guidelines
