This is a 12-week FMLA leave cover, working across two welcoming school sites: Ellen Woodside Elementary and Riley Child Development Center in Pelzer, SC. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through roughly January 12, 2027, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
You will provide vital support and skilled therapy to an active caseload of approximately 75 students, though not all will require direct interventions. This position is ideal for those with a passion for enriching children’s lives in an educational setting and a collaborative team spirit.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid, active Occupational Therapist license
- Background working as an OT in schools, preferably with young children
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Experience adapting therapy approaches to meet varied student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school staff to maximize student participation and progress
- Conduct thorough student assessments, document progress, and maintain accurate records
- Support and educate staff and caregivers on strategies to encourage student independence and engagement
- Travel between designated school buildings as needed within the school week
