In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with a dedicated group of eight occupational therapists, sharing ideas and strategies to enhance school-based OT programs.
- Serve as a key member of the building-level teams at two middle school sites, working closely with students, educators, and families.
- Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations to help determine special education eligibility.
- Provide direct intervention and support through both Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) frameworks.
- Consult with teaching teams to promote the successful generalization of skills across school settings.
- Document interventions and progress in accordance with school and district protocols.
Ideal candidates possess:
- A valid license to practice Occupational Therapy in Illinois.
- Experience delivering OT services within a school setting (preferred).
- Strong skills in evaluation, documentation, and collaborating with educators and caregivers.
- The flexibility to adapt services to meet diverse student needs and settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
