Occupational Therapist School Setting in Gig Harbor, WA
An exciting contract opportunity awaits for skilled Occupational Therapists passionate about making a difference in the school setting. This full-time, in-person position is available for the 2026-2027 school year, running from ASAP through June 11, 2027. You’ll work closely with elementary-aged students, supporting a manageable caseload of 32. Located near Gig Harbor, this assignment is perfect for those who thrive in a collaborative and hands-on environment.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid ESA certification
- Active Washington OT license
- Completed fingerprinting with OSPI
- Prior experience or strong interest working within schools
- Ability to support and collaborate with multidisciplinary education teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Commitment to providing individualized interventions and supporting student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to elementary school students
- Collaborate with educators, families, and staff to develop and implement student treatment plans
- Conduct assessments and evaluations as required
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation of services and student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise as part of the student support team
- Utilize evidence-based practices to promote optimal educational access and participation
- Adapt interventions and strategies to meet individual student needs in the school environment
