A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist in a school-based setting near Goodyear, AZ, with a focus on empowering students to reach their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Arizona
- Prior experience providing occupational therapy services in a school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric assessment and intervention strategies
- Familiarity with IEP/504 plan development and documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and administrators
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough screenings and assessments to identify students’ needs
- Interpret assessment results and related data to guide recommendations
- Evaluate students’ physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities as related to school performance
- Clearly convey assessment findings to IEP teams and parents
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) and/or 504 plans
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students, adapting interventions as needed
- Support the activities of teachers and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) if assigned
- Maintain detailed records and ensure all compliance requirements are met
