Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current license (or eligibility) to practice Occupational Therapy in Washington State
- Prior experience in educational, pediatric, or school-based OT settings is highly desirable
- Strong ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, families, and students
- Capacity to adapt and be resourceful in fast-paced school environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify students’ needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation
- Collaborate with teachers and support teams to create and execute effective IEPs and intervention plans
- Provide hands-on, individualized, and group therapy to help students reach their goals
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, progress notes, and detailed records in compliance with regulations
- Offer guidance and training for staff and families to generalize strategies beyond therapy sessions
- Engage in multidisciplinary meetings to ensure each student’s needs are addressed holistically
