School Occupational Therapist | Las Cruces, New Mexico

Your expertise will make a meaningful difference as you work onsite, collaborating with school staff and potentially supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). Versatility and a willingness to travel between school sites are key, as you’ll provide support to students of all ages, helping them maximize their independence and participation in the educational setting.
Qualifications:
- Active NM state Occupational Therapy licensure (NMRLD) and NMPED certification required by the start date (NMPED certification is a streamlined process for proactive applicants)
- Open to OTs and COTAs with required certifications
- Experience in school-based or pediatric OT preferred
- Ability and willingness to supervise COTAs as needed
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between multiple school sites
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in accordance with IEP goals
- Assess student needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and compliance documentation
- Work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise and mentor COTAs, ensuring quality care
