This contract opportunity focuses on providing individualized, compensatory OT services to a third-grade student, with a flexible schedule that fosters a positive partnership between therapist and family. Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license valid in New Jersey
- Previous experience in school settings or working with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and school staff
- Knowledge of IEP implementation and documentation best practices
- Ability to work independently while aligning with educational plans and therapists' standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compensatory occupational therapy sessions as mandated (11 sessions of 30 minutes each), scheduled after 3:30 PM with flexible coordination for the student and family
- Provide ongoing weekly therapy sessions (30 minutes per week), transitioning to monthly as outlined in the IEP
- Assess and address student needs to facilitate functional independence in both academic and daily activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate updates with relevant stakeholders
- Foster a positive therapeutic relationship to encourage participation and maximize benefit of each session
