This contract opportunity spans a single semester, providing valuable hands-on experience and the chance to collaborate closely with faculty, students, and families. The position is fully onsite and requires travel between multiple schools in the area, offering variety and fresh challenges as you deliver essential services.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Occupational Therapist license
- Strong background working with K-12 students in a school-based setting
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet diverse student needs
- Comfortable managing a flexible caseload across multiple sites
- Dedicated to fostering independence and participation in the classroom
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with educators and parents
Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities, develop and implement individualized plans
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services onsite
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for each student in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings as an OT expert
- Coordinate with general and special education staff for integrated student support
- Travel between sites as needed within the assigned district
