This full-time contract position is designed for a skilled Occupational Therapist eager to support K-12 students across several buildings in a vibrant school district about 40 minutes northeast of Denver.
Your expertise will be crucial in helping students reach their potential through comprehensive therapy and collaboration. The position offers the chance to work directly with pupils, conduct thorough evaluations, provide input for IEPs, and supervise/support a dedicated COTA within the district.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Hold (or be eligible for) licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Colorado
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Skilled in direct therapy services, student evaluations, and IEP development
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities, especially within multidisciplinary teams
- Experience overseeing or mentoring COTAs is a plus
- Comfortable managing a diverse K-12 caseload across multiple school sites
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Conduct formal and informal student assessments as part of the evaluation process
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, sharing professional recommendations and guidance
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district practices
- Supervise and collaborate with the district’s COTA, fostering professional growth and ensuring high standards of care
- Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to support students’ educational journeys
