Collaborate with educational staff, families, and other professionals to ensure each student has the tools to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in Illinois
- Relevant experience delivering occupational therapy services in a school-based or pediatric environment
- Strong ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, teachers, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ functional abilities and collaborate on individualized intervention plans
- Deliver targeted occupational therapy sessions tailored to meet each child’s unique needs
- Work closely with teachers and staff to modify classroom activities and ensure accessibility
- Document progress, maintain detailed records, and update IEPs as necessary
- Offer support and education to staff and families regarding strategies to promote student independence
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to advocate for student needs
