Desired qualifications and experience:
- Active OT license in New Mexico (or ability to obtain by assignment start date)
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred
- Strong ability to assess and develop individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Commitment to the social and emotional development of all students
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting occupational therapy assessments and evaluations to determine students’ needs
- Developing and implementing targeted intervention plans that support IEP objectives
- Delivering direct and consultative OT services to students (onsite only)
- Documenting progress, preparing required reports, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
- Serving as a valued resource for staff and parents to promote students’ independence and participation in the classroom and beyond
