Occupational Therapist School Setting in Monroe Township, NJ
Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting a 3rd-grade student in their occupational therapy journey. This opportunity is perfect for an Occupational Therapist passionate about making a meaningful impact by providing after-school compensatory services. Based in a welcoming educational setting, you'll collaborate closely with the student’s family to coordinate a schedule that fits seamlessly after 3:30 PM, ensuring flexibility while meeting the student’s individualized needs.
In this role, you'll focus on both compensatory and ongoing occupational therapy services. The initial compensatory support consists of 11 sessions (each 30 minutes—totaling 5.5 hours), designed to help the student catch up and build foundational skills. Following the owed services, you’ll continue with a weekly mandate of 30-minute sessions, transitioning to monthly after November to match the IEP’s step-down plan. This ongoing, indefinite role offers the chance to develop a supportive relationship and see your direct impact on student progress over time.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in New Jersey
- School-based or pediatric OT experience highly preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families and the educational team
- Flexibility to work after 3:30 PM and coordinate session times
- Familiarity with IEP-driven services and compensatory education is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engaging, goal-driven OT sessions tailored to individual needs
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with educational records
