Here’s a rewarding contract opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who’s passionate about supporting students and making a meaningful impact in their educational journeys. This full-time position offers a dynamic schedule, working weekdays from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM with a focus on delivering OT services across classrooms in two nearby educational settings. You’ll provide care for approximately 49 students, primarily those with moderate cognitive impairments or Autism, spanning preschool through 8th grade. Your caseload will also include those in Regional Moderate Cognitive Impairment programs, with supports taking place in Resource rooms and a dedicated Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) group.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Michigan OT licensure and relevant certifications
- Previous experience or strong interest in school-based OT services
- Familiarity with supporting students with moderate cognitive impairments and Autism
- Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites
- Solid organizational and documentation skills, with a willingness to learn EdPlan for Medicaid billing and records management
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized plans, and provide direct interventions
- Support student success in both push-in and pull-out environments
- Document services and progress within EdPlan, ensuring Medicaid eligibility requirements are met
- Participate in IEP meetings and engage with families and staff to coordinate student supports
Comprehensive mileage reimbursement is included for inter-site travel, ensuring you’re covered as you move between assignments. You’ll receive a full orientation, including EdPlan training from dedicated Administrative Assistants, and become part of a supportive community of educators and specialists.
