Occupational Therapist School Setting - Newark, NJ

Two dedicated Occupational Therapists are needed to provide compassionate, targeted services across four lively school sites—two located conveniently across the street from each other, with two more in close proximity. This full-time contract role allows you to focus on both individualized care and teamwork, ensuring each of the 60 assigned students receives the support they deserve.
You’ll enjoy a varied caseload shared with another OT professional, fostering a balanced and manageable workload. At least one therapist in the pair should feel comfortable and competent conducting evaluations as part of their responsibilities.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with school-based experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
- Experience working with students from PreK through 8th grade
- Strong organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation
- At least one therapist must be skilled in conducting evaluations
- Flexibility to travel between nearby school sites as needed
- Positive, collaborative attitude and dedication to student-centered care
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to a shared caseload of approximately 60 students
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to support student goals
- Complete necessary documentation in accordance with school and regulatory standards
- Conduct evaluations (for at least one of the OTs) to identify student needs and recommend services
- Adapt and modify activities to best support individual student progress
- Engage in team meetings and professional development activities
