Step into a rewarding, full-time contract opportunity supporting students from PreK through 8th grade as an Occupational Therapist. Located near Newark, NJ, this role is ideal for OTs passionate about school-based therapy who thrive in dynamic environments and value collaboration. You will join a team of two OTs, providing direct services across four local sites—two located conveniently across the street from one another, with the remaining two a short distance away.
Key Experience and Skills:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license and school-based OT experience
- Understanding of pediatric therapy needs for students from PreK to 8th grade
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 30 students in collaboration with another OT (total of 60 students split between two)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate care across multiple sites
- At least one OT must be able to conduct thorough evaluations and write detailed reports
- Flexibility and organizational skills to move efficiently between nearby campuses
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group OT interventions that foster student progress and independence
- Evaluate, develop, and update treatment plans tailored to student needs and IEP goals
- Document sessions and maintain compliance with all relevant guidelines and deadlines
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, share progress, and provide expert recommendations
- Help create therapeutic environments and incorporate OT strategies into daily school routines
