School Occupational Therapist | Oswego, Illinois
Make a meaningful impact supporting students across multiple school settings as an Occupational Therapist on this rewarding contract assignment near Oswego, IL. You'll have the opportunity to provide expert therapeutic care while working alongside dedicated educational teams and engaging with a diverse student population.
This dynamic role is split between two buildings: spend two days each week at an elementary school, bringing your skills to young learners, and three days at a high school, addressing a range of student needs. The schedule includes:
- 2 days per week at an elementary site: 8:45 AM–4:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- 3 days per week at a high school: 7:05 AM–2:35 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current licensure to practice Occupational Therapy in Illinois
- Previous experience within school settings preferred
- Ability to adapt interventions for students K-12 across developmental stages
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork with educators and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans focusing on each student's unique strengths
- Deliver direct services in both group and one-on-one settings, supporting academic and daily living skills
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines
- Maintain detailed documentation in alignment with school and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and advocate for student access to necessary supports
