Qualifications:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois
- Previous experience working in a school, ideally at the middle school level
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, documentation, and goal writing
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement appropriate interventions for a diverse student population
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable collaborating with teachers, families, and other professionals
- Organizational skills for maintaining accurate student records
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to middle school students as required by their IEPs
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized educational planning
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to support student progress
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services in various classroom and school settings
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress toward goals, updating plans as needed
- Educate staff on strategies, tools, and adaptive equipment that facilitate student success in the school setting
