Make a meaningful impact working as an Occupational Therapist in a dynamic educational setting near Prineville, OR. This contract opportunity spans the 2026–2027 school year, providing services to a diverse student population across seven counties. The position is based at the Manzanita Building and is scheduled to start on August 24th, working full-time (40 hours per week) for a 189-day contract.
Your responsibilities include comprehensive assessment and delivery of innovative occupational therapy services, both consultative and direct, tailored to students’ unique needs to enhance educational access and participation. You will also set up effective programs, train and support school staff, select and monitor adaptive equipment, and may supervise therapy assistants to ensure the highest quality of care and service.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid state Occupational Therapist licensing (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience supporting school-aged children with diverse learning and physical needs preferred
- Strong understanding of educational models and collaborative consultation
- Ability to assess, develop, and monitor individualized treatment plans
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supervising therapy assistants is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments for students with varying needs across multiple school sites
- Create, implement, and monitor occupational therapy interventions and strategies
- Train and consult with school staff to ensure program fidelity and student success
- Select, adapt, and oversee use of appropriate adaptive equipment
- Maintain thorough documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Supervise and mentor therapy assistants as assigned
