A unique opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to support elementary students on a contract assignment from April 20th through June 10th. The role covers a maternity leave backfill, focusing on serving an elementary caseload across three buildings near Rochester, MI. This position directly impacts approximately 40 students, providing a blend of direct and indirect services in a collaborative school setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Active OT licensure in Michigan
- Prior experience in school-based OT services, particularly at the elementary level
- Ability to manage a dynamic caseload across multiple locations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for IEPs and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Familiarity with progress monitoring, conducting evaluations, and completing MET reports
- Ability to work independently as well as part of an educational team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to students as outlined in IEPs
- Write and update IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Conduct student evaluations and participate in eligibility determination processes
- Monitor and document student progress on therapy objectives
- Complete all required MET reports in a timely and thorough manner
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student success
- Adapt to travel between three elementary buildings to provide consistent service
