School Occupational Therapist - Rochester, New York
Take your expertise as a school-based Occupational Therapist to the next level in an engaging educational setting near Rochester, NY. This is a full-time contract opportunity for a New York State-licensed Occupational Therapist interested in making a lasting impact on students throughout the upcoming school year. Beginning on September 8, 2026, and continuing until an internal hire is made, this position offers a rewarding chance to be a core part of a collaborative team dedicated to supporting students’ development.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active New York State licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Previous experience working in schools or educational settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptable to fluctuating caseloads and varied school locations as needed
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to a diverse student population in accordance with IEP goals and district protocols
- Evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans that promote student independence and success in academic and functional activities
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to optimize therapy outcomes and support students’ participation in school routines
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation and compliance with all state and district regulations
- Attend meetings and provide professional input on student progress as required
This role provides a stimulating atmosphere where you can use your skills to empower students, work closely with a supportive team, and contribute to a positive educational environment. The assignment is full-time, Monday through Friday. The specific caseload and building placement will be determined based on district needs.
