Occupational Therapist School Setting in San Jose, CA

A rewarding opportunity is available for a part-time Occupational Therapist to support students in a dynamic educational environment near San Jose, California. This contract role starts as soon as possible and continues until June 11th. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and families to provide essential OT services, focusing on helping children with developmental disabilities thrive in their school setting. Please note: this position is strictly onsite; remote or hybrid options are not considered.
Key Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Occupational Therapist license or be eligible for licensure in California as outlined in the California Occupational Therapy Practice Act
- Minimum of two years clinical experience, emphasizing pediatric therapy and developmental disabilities
- Prior experience within educational settings strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with professional teams and families
- Commitment to providing support exclusively onsite throughout the assignment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students
- Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to address students' needs within the school environment
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation according to district and state requirements
- Engage and communicate effectively with educators, administrators, and families to foster student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the overall educational team
This position provides a flexible part-time schedule, with hours anticipated to be around 37.5 per week and the specific work location still to be determined.
